Nina Maritz Architects sustainable architecture and design

Floating curved edge roof perches over four infill classrooms in previously neglected campus back-yard, creating new triangular student plaza framed by adjacent existing splayed buildings. New pedestrian ramp, access stair and lone tree are sculptural presences in neutral paving delineated by diagonal red brick patterns. Raw concrete counterpointed by red insertions create emphasis in unique corner within monotonous brutalist 1970’s campus in yellow-ochre plaster and red brick.
