One of the core values of Nina Maritz Architects is active participation and involvement in the architecture realm, which has seen Director Nina Maritz – and other team members – partake in conferences and give presentations worldwide. Furthermore, with inherent believe in sharing knowledge, Nina Maritz Architects often find themselves involved in academia as guest lectures and examiners, and so much more.

URBAN FORUM: NAMIBIA’S URBAN FUTURE 2017 hosted by Namibia University of Science & Technology and Ministry of Urban& Rural Development – Nina Maritz presented the session on ‘Design and Construction for Sustainable Housing’, and participated in final panel discussion.

2016

“Desert Retreat” field trip to Namibia with Peter Stutchbury, Richard Leplastrier & Sonja Spamer for University of Cape Town first year student – Nina Maritz co-host and organizer.
Yakuu community in Dol-Dol, Kenya - Nina Maritz conducted interactive workshops & design with for cultural museum & tourism centre for self-build with on-site sourced materials.

2006

Canova Architect’s Encounter in Ossola Valley in Italy on invitation of Canova Association (Chair Ken Marquardt) which restores historical stone villages – Nina Maritz invited participant.

2005

Co-founded & launched SENSE (Sustainable Energy Namibia) - network of enthusiasts aiming to make sustainable energy issues more accessible to public & lobby government for increasing use.

Holcim Award for Sustainable Construction – Nina Maritz is a member of the Johannesburg regional jury (Africa & Middle-East) for inaugural cycle of the Holcim Award for Sustainable Construction.

2004

Housing Trust Fund of Namibia – Nina Maritz nominated as trustee.

2003

Namibia Institute of Architects – Nina Maritz organised NIA 50: Celebrating Namibian Architecture” exhibition at National Gallery of Namibia.
