Existing thatch-roofed lodge upgraded and converted to insulated steel roof-sheeting as more durable and sustainable in the arid Kalahari Desert. Roof lights introduced to illuminate dark interiors and side dormer windows to provide external views. Interiors completely updated to minimalist neutral desert-appropriate character and water heating converted to solar. Main buildings also re-roofed and reconfigured. Exterior gathering spaces opened out to the veld, provided with dense shading and appropriate landscaping.
